About The Abbeyfield Silverdale Society

Abbeyfield Silverdale Society is a registered charity and also a registered company. As a charity, the Society operates on a not-for-profit basis and its purpose is to provide relief and care to the elderly. It does this through its residential care and day care services as well as supporting the residents of the Cove Orchard older people’s housing.

The Society is also part of the Abbeyfield family, which means that it follows The Abbeyfield Society’s guiding principles in the way it operates and looks after the residents in its care.

In all other respects Abbeyfield Silverdale Society is completely independent and is governed by its own board of Trustees who serve on a voluntary basis. In addition there is a Chief Executive Officer and a Registered Care Manager who look after all the day to day aspects of running the Society’s business.

As a charity, the Society can apply to grant giving bodies to support its work and claim Gift Aid on any donations it receives.

Cove House

Right from the moment Mum moved into Cove House, I've had complete confidence in the home's provision for her safety and wellbeing. I feel lucky that we found Cove House when living alone independently ceased to be viable for Mum. We looked at over twenty other residential care homes and Cove House was the stand-out best.

Caring staff, good food, feels safe!

Tracey

Daughter of Resident

As a resident of Cove House I know what it means to care. It's not just the usual carers tasks which they do cheerfully, but the many thoughtful extras they intuit I need. I will never forget the day I was having a really rough time and the carer spontaneously put her arms around me in comforting hug. I could add the small acts of kindness like shopping for vegan pate and feeding the birds and watering my plants and bringing me gingerbread cookies. Special thanks to the cooks who cater magnificently. I have never felt so cared for in my life
